If you’ve been following along for a while, especially on social media, you might have noticed things feeling a little quiet, or perhaps a bit disconnected. To be honest, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how we share music and connect with each other these days.

 

I love making music, and more than anything, I love when a song genuinely speaks to someone. But somewhere along the line, social media stopped feeling like a place for genuine connection. Between algorithms deciding who gets to see what, constant notifications, and the pressure to endlessly churn out "content," it feels like the human heart of it all gets lost in the noise.

 

I don't want to make content—I just want to make music. Music that I love and am proud of, but if others genuinely enjoy it too then that's a huge bonus. I’d far rather have a small, meaningful connection with 10 real people who dig what I do than thousands of passive scrolls.

 

 

 

 

With that said, before I pull back from these platforms entirely, I'm going to use this remaining time on social media for one final broadcast—a last shot of mass communication to reach as many people as possible. I want to throw open the doors, invite everyone in, and share far and wide what's coming at the start of this next new chapter for Secret Postal Society while I still have this megaphone, so anyone who needs this music can find their way to it.

 

 

Instead of using social media I’ll be redirecting my energy into building a proper place for the Secret Postal Society community here on the website and mailing list: think of it as becoming members of a real Secret Postal Society—a space for direct transmissions, quiet letters, hidden messages, and real community, completely free from algorithms.

 

As well as focusing on the website, there will be a move towards more physical releases (CDs, vinyl, merch, and real dispatches), and putting my music on platforms like Bandcamp and Subvert that truly support independent artists.

 

What’s landing in the mailbox soon:

 

 * 'Selected Transmissions' (18-09-26): A special 10-track compilation CD and digital album bringing together my most recent singles, a few older tracks and a rare unreleased live song — a physical home for these songs for the first time.

* Live Gig (26-09-26): I'll be playing a live in-store gig from 1pm at the Thirtythree/45 Record Shop in Neath to launch both ‘Selected Transmissions’ and ‘Five’. 

 * 'Five' (29-09-26): A brand-new single released entirely for free across all platforms. It’s a song to help you in those times when the world feels overwhelming, by reminding us to just stop, take a breath, count to five, and reset.

 * 'Manifest' (13-10-26): a new collaborative EP with American band Formerly Misinformed, featuring four tracks - 'Van Occupanther' (Midlake cover), 'Underneath the Same Stars' (previously released single remixed and remastered), 'With All Due Respect (Secret Strings Mix)' (previously unreleased SPS remix of FM track), 'Autumn Leaves (No Surprises Mix)' (previously released FM remix of SPS single).

 

 

 

 

 

At its core, most of my music is about love, kindness, acceptance, and especially hope. I write these lyrics because I want my songs to be a gentle light for myself and other people in a world that can sometimes feel dark and overwhelming. If these songs can bring a bit of comfort, understanding, or warmth into your life, then they've done their job.
